Jon is a self described "Part-time VC, RSS addict and technology evangelist" as well as the Managing Director of The Difference Engine.
Modelled on the Y Combinator, Seedcamp and TechStars seed funds for startups, The Difference Engine is a full-time 13 week acceleration programme which combines investment, with mentoring, support and office space. By the end of the programme, startups will be expected to be "investor ready" for presenting to venture capitalists and angel investors at a demo day
Applications for the next intake - starting in September 2010 - have opened and Jon is hosting a lunch in Leeds to meet technologists, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and geeks to share their ideas and invite them to apply for the programme as well as share his experiences and insights from The Difference Engine.
